Senior Business Development Manager

The Role
We buy businesses, and we are looking for an offshore Business Development Manager whose role it is to help us engage the owners of these target businesses and introduce the. As a crucial member of the sales and investment team, this role will play an integral part in the success of the business, and you will be responsible for lead generation.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about talking to business owners and operators and starting them on the journey to realising the value in their businesses.
You will be responsible for direct outreach (via phone, email, and LinkedIn messaging) with a goal to engage the owners of the target businesses, introduce them to the team and our unique operating structure, build rapport, and set follow-up conversations (phone, virtual, or, sometimes, in person) for our onshore sales and investment team members.
You will be required to manage all aspects of prospecting, including
• researching and generating target lists or working from lists provided.
• establishing a structured outreach program and pipeline.
• performing disciplined and consistent outreach.
• diligently recording activity and outcomes through HubSpot; and,
• booking in follow-up activities (meetings, calls, email) between targets and the onshore Sales and Investment team.
The Business Development Manager’s duties & responsibilities are:
• Work directly with the sales and investment team to define and execute your outreach strategies.
• Meet sales goals through researching, prospecting, qualifying, and introducing.
• Updating and maintaining the central deal flow database (HubSpot), diligently adding opportunities, contacts, notes, and communication.
• Building relationships with the Sales and Investment team (specifically) and the broader team.
• Provide the necessary reporting and forecasting for your role, as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
Must have:
• A proven track record in business development within, or for, Australian SMEs.
• Genuine interest in SMEs and helping business owners and operators achieve their goals around business succession and exit.
• Extraordinary communication skills, both written and oral.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills.
• Positive, winning mentality willing to go above and beyond.
