Electrical Estimator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical projects. The role involves reviewing project plans, analyzing requirements, and working closely with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to ensure competitive and precise pricing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical installations and systems
  • Perform quantity take-offs and material costing
  • Source and obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Analyze project risks and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to clarify project scope
  • Prepare and submit bid proposals within deadlines
  • Maintain records of estimates, pricing, and project history
  • Support project handover by providing accurate cost breakdowns

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred)
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator or in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with commercial, industrial, or residential electrical projects
  • Knowledge of local electrical codes and regulations
  • Familiarity with tendering and procurement processes
