General Accounting & Tax Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage all aspects of tax compliance and reporting for the Company, including local tax filing and audits, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide tax advice and recommendations to management on tax planning and optimization strategies.
• Performs the preparation, timely filing of all monthly/ quarterly/ annual tax returns along with required attachments and payment of taxes due to BIR.
• Checks the completeness and accuracy of the amount of taxes to be reported/remitted to BIR by reconciling the tax amounts per books and validating the supporting documents (i.e., ORs and invoices)
• Prepares closing/month-end journal voucher for tax provision, deferred taxes, and other adjustments necessary.
• Prepares/ compiles documentary requirements for submission to BIR, PEZA, BOI, SEC & LGU’s.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper accounting treatment for transactions related to PEZA, BOI, etc. and to ensure overall compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Handles BIR Letter of Authority (LOA); liaises with BIR Examiners, submission of required documents, reconciles BIR tax findings, drafts transmittal/responses to BIR Findings.
• Develop, implement, and maintain tax policies, procedures, and controls to ensure Company’s compliance with changing tax laws and regulations.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax authorities, responding to inquiries and resolving any tax-related issues.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Assist external auditors during the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Support in addressing audit findings and implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights and recommendations to management.
• Conduct thorough financial and data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Assist in the implementation of accounting software systems and process improvements.
• Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
• Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes affecting accounting and tax compliance.
• Attends any ad hoc tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

− Amenable to work onsite every day in Makati Office
− A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
− Experience in preparing documents and reports for BIR, PEZA and other LGUs
