Senior Tax Associate (Onsite)

Job Description:
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of all local and national tax returns (VAT, income tax, withholding tax, etc.).
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings in compliance with BIR and LGU requirements.
• Review all tax schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for submission.
• Lead and manage BIR audits, including Letter of Authority (LOA), Notice of Discrepancy (NOD), and other assessments.
• Prepare documentation and responses to BIR queries, working closely with external consultants and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain comprehensive records and audit trails to support tax positions and reduce audit risk.
• Identify tax-saving opportunities and risk areas and provide recommendations to the Head of Finance and Management.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, assessing their impact on the business.
• Lead the evaluation of tax treatments for new transactions, investments, or business expansions.
• Coordinate with external advisors and affiliated entities to ensure proper Transfer Pricing Documentation (TPD) and related-party disclosures.
• Ensure documentation meets BIR requirements and is submitted on time for each individual entity.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline tax operations and reduce risk.
• Develop internal guidelines and train relevant staff on tax-related matters to ensure companywide compliance.
• Act as the main point of contact for external tax consultants, BIR representatives, and auditors.
• Collaborate with accounting, legal, and finance teams to support business transactions with correct tax treatment.
• Attends to any ad hoc tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in tax compliance, tax advisory, and tax audits
• Strong knowledge of local and national tax laws and regulations (e.g., VAT, income tax, withholding tax, etc.)
• Proven experience in preparing, reviewing, and filing various tax returns and schedules
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to collaborate across departments and with external consultants
• Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
