Senior General Accountant
Senior General Accountant will be working in accounts payable (AP), financial statement preparation,
balance sheet management, cash flow analysis, and reconciliation processes. In addition, experience in
Power Query, Excel, and PivotTables is essential to streamline financial reporting and analysis. This is a
dynamic role requiring an understanding of accounting principles and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Accounts Payable (AP) Management:
o Oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments.
o Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and address payment inquiries.
o Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes related to AP.
• Financial Statement Preparation:
o Prepare financial statements, ensuring they are accurate and comply with accounting standards
o Assist with the preparation and analysis of income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
o Work closely with internal teams to review financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
• Balance Sheet Management:
o Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all balances are accurate and up to date.
o Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounts, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and intercompany transactions.
• Cash Flow and Forecasting:
o Analyze cash flow trends, working capital, and liquidity positions.
o Assist in preparing cash flow forecasts and projections to support financial planning and decision-making.
Reconciliation:
o Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and credit card statements.
o Investigate and resolve any discrepancies, ensuring all transactions are accurately reflected in financial records.
o Monitor and support internal controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
Excel & Power Query Analysis:
o Leverage advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, INDEX/MATCH) to process, analyze, and present financial data.
o Design and maintain financial dashboards and reporting templates.
• Attends to any ad hoc tasks that may assigned from time to time
Required Qualifications:• Education & Experience:
o Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
o Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts payable, financial reporting, and balance sheet management.
• Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (skills such as pivot tables, Power Query, formulas).
o Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
o Experience in data analysis and financial reporting automation.
• Analytical Skills:
o Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when working with complex financial data.
o Excellent problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve discrepancies or financial issues.
o Ability to create clear and concise financial reports and presentations.
