Senior Accountant
Job Description
- Leadership and Team Oversight:
- Supervise the daily activities of the accounting team to ensure efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to junior accounting staff to build their expertise and improve team performance.
- Tax Compliance and BIR Correspondence:
- Manage all aspects of tax compliance, including the preparation, filing, and payment of taxes such as VAT, withholding tax, and corporate income tax.
- Handle Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) audits, Notices of Discrepancy (NODs), Letters of Authority (LOAs), and other correspondence to ensure timely resolution and compliance.
- Coordinate with external tax consultants or legal counsel to address complex tax issues or disputes.
- Audit Leadership:
- Lead all internal and external audit processes, ensuring timely preparation of audit requirements and addressing audit queries.
- Collaborate with external auditors to complete the year-end audit for compliance with financial reporting standards.
- Ensure proper documentation and reconciliation of accounts to maintain audit readiness.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with PEZA, BOI, and other regulatory agencies, including accurate and timely submission of reports such as Monthly Performance Reports (MPR) and Annual Audited Financial Statements.
- Ensure compliance with LGU requirements, including business permits and local tax obligations.
- Address inquiries and coordinate with other government agencies, including SEC, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and LGUs
- Financial Operations and Reporting:
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports prepared by the accounting team to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor the monthly and annual financial closing processes to meet reporting deadlines.
- Maintain proper internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement improvements in financial processes, systems, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Establish and maintain policies and procedures to standardize financial operations across the organization.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Head of Finance to align accounting team objectives with the company’s strategic goals.
- Provide recommendations and insights based on financial performance to support decision-making.
- Attend to any ad hoc tasks and special projects assigned from time to time.
