Senior Accountant

Job Description

  1. Leadership and Team Oversight:
    1. Supervise the daily activities of the accounting team to ensure efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
    2. Provide guidance, training, and support to junior accounting staff to build their expertise and improve team performance.
  2. Tax Compliance and BIR Correspondence:
    1. Manage all aspects of tax compliance, including the preparation, filing, and payment of taxes such as VAT, withholding tax, and corporate income tax.
    2. Handle Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) audits, Notices of Discrepancy (NODs), Letters of Authority (LOAs), and other correspondence to ensure timely resolution and compliance.
    3. Coordinate with external tax consultants or legal counsel to address complex tax issues or disputes.
  3. Audit Leadership:
    1. Lead all internal and external audit processes, ensuring timely preparation of audit requirements and addressing audit queries.
    2. Collaborate with external auditors to complete the year-end audit for compliance with financial reporting standards.
    3. Ensure proper documentation and reconciliation of accounts to maintain audit readiness.
  4. Regulatory Compliance:
    1. Ensure compliance with PEZA, BOI, and other regulatory agencies, including accurate and timely submission of reports such as Monthly Performance Reports (MPR) and Annual Audited Financial Statements.
    2. Ensure compliance with LGU requirements, including business permits and local tax obligations.
    3. Address inquiries and coordinate with other government agencies, including SEC, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and LGUs
  5. Financial Operations and Reporting:
    1. Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports prepared by the accounting team to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    2. Monitor the monthly and annual financial closing processes to meet reporting deadlines.
    3. Maintain proper internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data
  6. Process Improvement:
    1. Identify and implement improvements in financial processes, systems, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    2. Establish and maintain policies and procedures to standardize financial operations across the organization.
  7. Collaboration:
    1. Work closely with the Head of Finance to align accounting team objectives with the company’s strategic goals.
    2. Provide recommendations and insights based on financial performance to support decision-making.
  8. Attend to any ad hoc tasks and special projects assigned from time to time.
