Marketing Automation Contractor
Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Marketing Automation Contractor to support a critical platform migration from Pardot to Customer.io. This is a short-term contract engagement (6–8 weeks, starting as soon as possible) sourced through Flat Planet.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with marketing automation system migrations, understands how to map, rebuild, and validate marketing workflows across platforms, and can hit the ground running with minimal onboarding. This is a focused, delivery-oriented contract, not a generalist marketing role. You will work closely with the company’s business systems and analytics teams to ensure a smooth and complete transition to Customer.io.
Key Responsibilities
Migration Execution
• Act as Marketing lead of the end-to-end migration of marketing automation assets from Pardot to Customer.io
• Audit existing Pardot setup including one-off emails, journeys, segments, forms, and integrations
• Rebuild and configure equivalent workflows, campaigns, and automations in Customer.io
• Map and migrate contact data, lists, and segmentation logic
• Validate and test all migrated assets prior to go-live
Platform & Technical Support
• Configure Customer.io settings, integrations, and data connections as required
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues arising during the migration process
• Ensure data integrity and compliance throughout the migration
• Document migration decisions, configurations, and any known gaps
• Document best practices to be followed by all users of the Customer.io platform
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Work closely with the Marketing and RevOps teams to understand and execute on requirements and priorities
• Work closely with the Customer.io Implementation team to adhere to onboarding steps and undertake training modules, bringing in team members as relevant
• Ensure all priority Marketing use cases are delivered on time, and fast follow items sequenced with stakeholder commitment and agreed timelines
• Provide clear progress updates and flag risks early
• Hand over completed work with documentation to ensure the internal team can manage postmigration
Who We Are Looking For
• Proven experience with marketing automation platform migrations (Pardot experience strongly preferred)
• Hands-on experience with Customer.io or comparable platforms (e.g. HubSpot, Marketo, Klaviyo)
• Strong understanding of email marketing, lead nurturing journeys, and segmentation
• Comfortable working with data — contact lists, CRM integrations, and event-based triggers
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Able to work independently and deliver in a short, defined timeframe
• Strong communication skills — able to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
• Strong stakeholder management skills – able to work with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders
• Available to start immediately and commit to the contract duration
Engagement Details
Duration: 6 weeks minimum, up to 8 weeks (with potential to extend)
