Financial Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY
You will play a crucial role as part of the financial accounting team across Australia and New Zealand. This role will collaborate with a number of team members across the accounting function, FP&A team, wider finance team as well as with various departments to assist in producing accurate & timely financial reporting as well as to provide financial insights, analysis, and support to facilitate informed business decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
• Ownership of revenue process including posting daily journals, reconciliations to core reservations and merchant systems, banking reconciliation & deferred revenue reconciliation
• Ongoing review of financial results including reviewing, understanding, reallocating and accruing expenses in line with expectations and actual results to support monthly reporting
• Complete processes supporting inventory management including managing the financial aspect of stocktakes, reconciliations, provisioning and variance reporting
• Management and maintenance of balance sheet reconciliations and related processes on a monthly basis
• Ownership of fixed asset process including lease accounting, registrar management for accounting and tax purposes, asset creation, depreciation, tracking and reporting
• Manage processing including posting credit card expenses, corporate travel, prepayments
• Management of lodgement of government levies, grants
• Assist in providing supporting information for full year and half year audit and in the production of financial statements
• Participate in process optimisation efforts, including automating data entry, focusing on consolidation processes across operational businesses and

QUALIFICATIONS
• Appropriate territory and/or accounting qualifications (CPA/CA/Equivalent)
• Experience in a similar role with 3+ years of experience
• Experience with SAP desirable however not critical
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
