About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Estimator to join our team on an immediate basis. Following the departure of our previous estimator, we need a seasoned professional who can hit the ground running — someone who brings deep roofing industry knowledge, sharp attention to detail, and the confidence to manage a diverse portfolio of projects from small residential jobs through to major commercial contracts exceeding $1 million.

This is a high-impact role where accuracy, speed, and accountability are essential. You will be central to our business development efforts, producing competitive and reliable estimates that win work and protect margin.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate, detailed, and competitive estimates for roofing projects ranging from $500 to $1,000,000+
  • Conduct thorough quantity take-offs from plans, drawings, and site inspections
  • Utilise BuildExact, Stack, ApiClad, and Excel to produce professional estimates and documentation
  • Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting tight turnaround deadlines
  • Consistently achieve KPIs including estimate volume, turnaround time, and win rate targets
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to confirm scope, pricing, and specifications
  • Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings to develop accurate scopes of work
  • Identify and communicate risks, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of roofing materials, labour rates, and market pricing
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes and templates

Requirements

  • Experience & Qualifications
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the roofing industry in an estimating or senior commercial role
    • Demonstrated experience estimating projects from $500 through to $1M+
    • Formal trade qualification or relevant construction/estimating qualification (preferred)
  • Software & Technical Skills
    • Proficient in BuildExact — able to build, manage, and export estimates independently
    • Proficient in Stack — experienced with digital take-off and measurement tools
    • Proficient in ApiClad — confident producing roof sheeting and cladding calculations
    • Advanced Excel skills — able to build and manage estimating spreadsheets, cost models, and reports
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
