As an integral member of the finance team, this role will focus on identifying, implementing, and maintaining technical excellence and stewardship of financial accounting across Equis Holding and project entities.
What you will do
Key Responsibilities:
Leading the technical accounting aspects of the Manila shared service finance function, which provides ongoing support to Australia and Singapore-based entities, including:
• Timely review of monthly management reporting packs.
• Review of consolidation accounts, including update of the consolidation adjustments.
• Oversight of the preparation and review of annual, half-year, and quarter-period consolidated and stand-alone entity financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards and
other reporting requirements.
• Review of various contracts (including development, construction, operations, lease, and loan contracts) to identify the key terms and apply the appropriate accounting treatment.
• Assistance in the preparation of information requested for annual audits and other mandatory financial reporting to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Assistance in the preparation/review of annual income tax and quarterly period GST/VAT workpapers.
• As an individual contributor to the team, you will apply your technical accounting skills, setting the standard of high-quality financial reporting for the team. This will further include training and mentoring to the PH finance team.
• Support to the wider Australian and Singapore finance team as and when required.
Requirements:
• CPA qualification and at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrated technical accounting knowledge with exposure to the application of accounting standards (e.g., IFRS and respective PFRS equivalents) to business transactions, including PFRS 3 (business combinations), PFRS 7, PFRS 9, PAS 39 (financial instruments), PFRS 10 (consolidated financial statements), PFRS 16 (leases), PAS 16 (PPE), PAS 23 (borrowing costs), PAS 27 (separate financial statements), PAS 28 (investment in associates), PAS 36 (impairment of assets), PAS 37 (provisions and contingent liabilities), and PAS 38 (intangible assets).
• Background in auditing or financial reporting with exposure to capital-intensive industries (e.g., renewable infrastructure development).
• Interpersonal skills and the ability to confidently interact with senior management and colleagues.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
