Estimator
Job Description:
• Estimates tenders for new projects. Either new opportunities or existing Projects that have new subcontract variations to bid.
• Quantity take offs and procuring prices from the market to produce new tenders.
• Effectively manage the Estimating of Requests for Tender (RFT’s) from the Market and produce
• Letters of Offer for review and sign off by Company Directors.
• Seek out market opportunities through various means either Developers, Councils, Authorities or Major Contractors in line with our Business Plan for Growth.
• Continually liaises with the Project teams to gauge an understanding of the level of activity within the company. i.e. matching resources to certain potential projects.
• Maintain the company profile on Tenderlink and websites that allow the company to participate or be invited to Tender.
• Handover ofsuccessful projects to the Delivery teams. Including initial meetings through to ongoing support for questions regarding the estimate.
• Ensure new starters are introduced to the team and are given support to be productive and efficient.
• Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Identify risks early and plan projects accordingly.
• Promote clean and tidy workplaces, plant and equipment and the storage of materials. Maintain effective organisational skills to manage this aspect.
• Keep records of all quotes and estimates in places that are organised and easily retrievable.
• Attend a weekly and monthly meeting with the Project Teams to understand progress on sites and feedback on costs.
• Attend meetings with Head Estimator to discuss bids and business-related activities.
• Carry out project administration and liaison with network authorities and client with the upmost due diligence to ensure negative feedback or non-conformances are not received
• Source quotations and procure materials
• Attend pricing reviews for all tenders and quotes.
• As a senior member of the company, represent our company as a positive and progressive business at all times.
• Provide leadership in all areas of safety, quality and environmental core values of the business.
• Undertake all facets of bid development and management to prepare tenders for potential work
JOB DIMENSIONS AND RELATIONSHIPS:
• He/she is in charge of all business activity and the implementation of the HSEQ Management System in all levels of management. He/she must develop relationships between company, service providers and clientele.
SAFETY:
• The Associate Estimator ensures the safety of all personnel in their area when working, identify
training required, administer and record risks. He/she must promote clean and tidy work sites,
plant and equipment and the storage of materials.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• Experience using Software such as PlanSwift or similar
• Need to have a good understanding and knowledge in construction language and the ability write job scope of works.
• Working experience with Excel
