Client Services Manager Visits Sydney

Last month, our very own Victoria met with various clients in Australia. Here she recounts her experiences during her recent visit.

Last October 2, I was given an opportunity by Flat Planet to visit the land down under. Being with Flat Planet for five years, I’ve been able to build meaningful working relationships with our stakeholders, thanks to technology! Skype calls, phone calls—they all work to our advantage. However, everyone would agree with me that nothing beats personally meeting our clients. Having said that, we wasted no time and booked appointments, and next thing I knew, my calendar was already packed with confirmed appointments with clients I was so eager to meet.

On the week of my visit, it felt as if it were my first time visiting Australia despite having been there a couple of times. Once again, I found myself captivated by the beauty of the country and its people. From the busy streets of the CBD to the relaxing view of Darling Harbour, Sydney is simply an amazing city. Clean surroundings, disciplined people, easily accessible transport system, healthy food, fresh air, and screaming opportunities—there’s no wonder this place is called the “lucky country”.

Meeting my clients face to face is an opportunity for me to test whether we, as a company, have created strong relationships with them. It is also a testament to how effective we are in partnering with clients towards achieving their business goals. Although I get to confirm how our clients see our staff and our company via phone or Skype calls, or when they request to expand their teams, or when they refer us to their peers, physically interacting with our clients is always a different experience and it gave me that certain level of assurance that we are doing exactly what they need.

While meeting our clients is a meeting of professionals, I am always welcomed with warm and genuine hugs from people I work with every single day for the past five years! It was a great experience seeing them in the flesh. It was a nice break from our normal virtual interactions.

It was even more rewarding to hear our clients’ remarks on how satisfied they are with our level of service, and how they want their staff to feel that they are part of their team in Sydney even if they are a continent away. This whole trip was indeed a worthwhile and rewarding activity for me and Flat Planet. It goes to show how our loyal clients and potential customers value our commitment to helping them effectively and efficiently run their businesses. As Flat Planet’s Client Services Manager, I am proud to be an ambassador of Filipino culture and professionalism to all our clients worldwide.
